Found the cool link for figuring out your corrected speed depending what size tire you're running, b u t, how do I figure the actual mileage with different size wheels/tires. Currently running 175/65/14 :banghead Meaning MPG by the way. Thanks

putt-putt

I got over 60 mpg 5 times last summer. Of course, my average speed for the tanks were well under 40 mph! I can only imagine what us non-XFI drivers could do with an XFI! Right now I'm averaging 55 or so. I'll get putt-putt back on the road once I'm done hypermiling this tank on the 03 F250 6.0 I recently bought. I'm hoping for 26-29 mpg on this crew cab diesel. A lot to ask for, I know, but I think it is doable.

My best tank on my MK5 was 66 MPG last summer when I really pushed it. Average summer mileage is around 60 while winter is more like 50 and sometimes less depending on road, temp, etc.
Does pré hybride means that it runs a little on the battery?

Is that the green light whats lighting up in the middle?

Dont have a clue how much its run( just by mine because it was a cute little light convertible).
but i know its much cheaper with patrol(benzine) already than my mitsubishi galant

No, pre-hybrid means before Toyota came out with the Prius.

That green arrow is the shift light. If you use a light foot on the accelerator and shift with the arrow, you will get the best fuel mileage (supposedly).

48mpg. Okay I checked my 4banger w/3speed auto. (Early Dec.) I was also on open highway behind 2semi's. Speed was 50-55 mph. Everyday real world driving I get 31.8mpg with her. Haven't checked my 3cylinder 5speed yet.

You want most of the time without the green light. If the light comes on, shift as soon as you can. I usually shift at a particular speedometer speed that I know is just before the green arrow on.

Its turn on by 3000.
if im driving easy i shift on 2500
but when im trying go fast i shift after 4000/5000
i always forget its better for nature to shift at low range(@ 5:45 in the morning im to sleepy to watch for perfect shift ^o) )

G1 - Sprints routinely got 50+ mpg.
G2 - XFI Metro's routinely got 50 to 60+ mpg
Next best is a Metro with XFI components swapped in: Remove one ring from piston, change the camshaft, change the ECM, change the tranny.
Next best is a Metro with XFI tranny, Convert. tranny, or G3 4 cyl. tranny swapped in.
G3 - Best mileage acheived by doing the Next Best swaps from above. Some acheive high mileage by doing some hypermile techniques but most experience about 47 mpg avg. The heavier weight of these cars makes their mileage a bit lower.

G4 - There is no real G4 here in the states. Some consider the '98 and up and even the 4 door models sold after 2000 to be G4 models but they are really just extensions of the G3 line from '95 and up. Suzuki still sold the Swift line in Europe and other places and these may be G4 but Stateside folks are not going to have much experience with these so we need some Europe folks to weigh in on those. But that would not be fair so a Europe Swift site would probably give you more info.

G3 four cylinder tranny is the same as an XFI tranny, 3.79. G3 three cylinder is the same as a convertible tranny, 4.39, not what you want for mileage. G2 standard tranny is 3.95 or 4.10 depending on year. G2 four cylinder has the best highway tranny, 3.53.

Europe got the G2 until 2004 or so, India and Pakistan still have them.

Oh yeah, forgot something. The G3 cars are too big and heavy for the three cylinder to work very well, that's why the crazy gear ratio. I've had two three cylinders and two four cylinders, the threes got 43 mpg and the fours got 40 mpg. Not as much difference as you would think as the three cylinder is working very hard in this application.
