My work in Hot Rod magazine

I went to school for auto restoration (graduated in '02) and spent three years working in shops before moving 2+ hours away to where a certain girl lived who is know my wife. Long story short...no restoration shops around here...at least not that pay decent...so I'm currently working for a military contractor as a mechanic. Anyway, if you get Hot Rod magazine check out the Anglia in the Feb. '09 issue. I was one of the guys that put the roof in. I helped a guy that was leaving the shop english wheel the roof and then he welded in about have of it before he had to leave (work visa expired). So I finished the welding and did the metal finishing on it. They are right...VERY little filler in that thing with custom support bows underneath. I miss that work so it is cool to see some of it lingering around.

I checked out Hot Rod online and found 2, one is a dragster and another is a '51 painted blue called Four Alarm Flyer. Is it either one of these?

Nope, this one is black and owned by Bob Brown in Topeka. I can't find it online on Hot Rod's website. I even checked the chassis builder's name on Google. Apparently he owns a race shop in Topeka but no website that I can find.

I'm pretty sure this is the same car. I saw it at a car show in Wamego last year and the info card said it was from Topeka. The owner wasn't around so I just had my wife snap a picture of me and my daughter. So this car may not be it...but if it isn't then there are two black Anglias in Topeka with steel roofs!
