Dimetroton has made his way from Illinois to my place in Ohio for a complete rebuild. That is why I have not been on for awhile. We got the new valves in and the head rebuilt and are now in the process of replacing the pistons and rings.

I will try and update "Ride of the Week" and news tomorrow if possible.

Wish us luck :thumb

It lives! This Metro has a XFi cam and an 8 degree advanced timing gear. We just got it running an hour ago. It started right up the first time :)

I got pics of the rebuild also. Dimetroton is very happy with the outcome so far. We are now installing a vacuum gauge and planning the first road trip to the parts store in the morning for a new air filter and plug wires.

Ah, you suck! j/k That is a pretty good thrash to do all of that in a weekend. Seems whenever I open something up I end up needing some small part (or a timing cover) that is hard to get or takes 5 days to ship.

Fred's timing cover was not too bad except the lower part was messed up a little. Even the whole gasket was in place.
