The only problem that can occur is the lifters may take some time to adjust to the new grind and make some noise at first, but I never heard any cons except a guy on Teamswift who di the swap and said his mileage did not go up, but we found out he only drove 2 miles to work, so the car was never warmed up reaching it's peak economy.

I wouldn't even say that it will hurt your mileage that much. Mine went down a decent bit but i was also running stupid rich and had very low compression. I wouldn't think it would go down more than 4-5 max, also depends on how you are driving it. I've even heard that the economy cam actaully helps with power also, in addition to better mpg.

I did hear a little ticking at first with the econo cam. I have been keeping records of my fuel economy and will have a 218/350 cam report in a few weeks (and a 0-60 some day). I do tap the throttle more because of the rough idle, and because it sounds awesome. :evillol May up that idle 50 rpm. I spend more time above 3K rpm for more power and I've been up to 85 mph twice, briefly. If you don't change your driving habits the 218/350 cam simply gives you more power.

Spoiler alert! The instructions with the 218/350 cam included "Comments: Excellent street performance grind. Good low, and midrange power, to 6500+RPM. Works well as a street/strip type cam, or for aggressive turbo applications, Rough idle." What sold me (Mike already had my money) was the first three lines: "+6/+8/+10 degree timing advance sprocket. This part is not for sale, or use on street driven vehicles in the state of California. For off road use only!" :rocker

Please be patient and I'll report on the mpg in maybe two weeks unless I do a road trip. Roadster car show this weekend in Boise, ID. Why 2+ weeks? I walk 2.5 miles Round Trip to work or take a recumbent tricycle (on ice). I drive 24 mi RT twice a week to my favorite coffee house. :coffee

I see so this cam gives only all positives but would it increase emmisions for like an air care bc test ? if so then this is probly the reason it does not come like this from factory. and how does he make these custom camshafts ?

:hmm I am so not going to pass any inspection. I may have to replace my cam and header if I move. The wife's econo cam may pass. We know the engine is Suzuki designed. I read "A detuned 49 hp unit was used in the ultra-fuel-efficient XFi model, which delivered as much as 58 miles per gallon." The factory... Henry Ford's mass production, So it's hp vs. mpg yada, yada.

Actually I kept my old 3 cyl. G10 engines and pulled the cams out of them, sent them to Mike and I assume he ground them on a lathe? Wikipedia: Camshaft. PM suprf1y for more information?
