I've seen that site before, and , no it won't fir in a Geo. The Geo would probably fit in one of the bores. In pieces. Neat stuff though. You would think they would assemble it in place. That's what they used to do with the old Buddha engines.(great big engines for large ships, company out of business in the 1950's) |

Awesome info.! I love reading about stuff like this. Its too bad we are letting this type of manufac. capability get away from us though. Would be nice to be able to visit a factory like that here in the states. |

Much better link than the one I posted. Biggest engine I have worked on was a EMD 645e3. But I have already said that. LOL

I know what you mean, but it is not possible for one country to lead in every industry. |

"i wish i could share in your optimism, unfortuantely, the american foot hold on almost everything is not leading anymore. We are too reliant on other countries that are producing more faster and cheaper, and in some cases a superior product to ours," Caterpillar Cummins PACCAR John Deere Bucyrus General Motors Boeing Lockheed-Martin General Dynamics Textron Raytheon Hughes General Atomics Pratt&Whitney General Electric Ball Aerospace Goodrich Honeywell Gulfstream United Technologies Baxter Abbott Wyeth Schering-Plough Merck Pfizer Johnson and Johnson Google Intel Texas Instruments Teledyne IBM HP Microsoft Fairchild National Semiconductor Analog Devices Archer-Daniels-Midland General Mills Heinz Bunge Mosaic Cargille McDonalds Hundreds and hundreds of other great companies that you normally don't think too much about. We still make lots of stuff. If you had to exist exclusively on products made by only one country, you would want that country to be the USA. Sure, we'd be naked by the end of the first year and gasoline would cost $8.50/gallon...., but by the end of the second year, folks laid off from the retail sector would be staffing newly founded textile and clothing companies and if you owned a Geo Metro, you'd be the most popular person on the block. ...If you owned four Metros going in.... you'd be rich by selling three of 'em. .......And if you were Mullet, you'd be King. ![]() |
