Well, I hope nobody from this forum is bidding on this and takes offense here but this is just another example of the craziness that takes over on Ebay:http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=120373312231&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWAX%3AIT&viewitem=]My Webpage. Good lord, I would love to have a low mileage rust free Metro as much as the next guy but this is just ridiculous. Almost half of the original purchase price. I was hoping that with the temporary reduction in gas prices that the price of Metro's would follow suit but guess I was wrong!

That's insane. Doesn't even have AC. Damn, I got my 93 for $800 when gas was at $3/gal and it only had 52K on it and no rust. Must be nice for the seller though. He's not controlling the price, the crazy bidderes are |

Yeah, but the top bidder only has (1) for feedback. Kind of scary! I know everybody starts out that way on ebay but it seems like a lot of the time these high-bidding, low feedback ebay guys are just scamming. I hope it works out ok for the seller! |

I dont know what it sold for but On the other hand I guess we all should add up what we have done to our exsisting Metros and what could be done to them to make them a clean car..We all know what parts can cost for 1 of these cars..Not to metion paint..If its really a nice car and in great shape and you dont have to work on it,Is the price really that bad?You could buy a Honda with 200,000 on it for this price...Id rather have a clean Metro..When I looked last it was like 3100 Just playing devils advocate..Look on the lots...what can you really buy for 3 grand? |

r12 makes a good point. Let's say you think gas will go back up HIGHER, and your mechanical knowledge couldn't be any lower... This would not be such a bad deal... |

"..If its really a nice car and in great shape and you dont have to work on it,Is the price really that bad?" I agree. If it is really clean and in good condition, it would be worth that much to someone who has a long commute. If I saw that car a year ago, I'd have bought it. |

Ok, I will admit it. If you were to re-wind the clock back before this wonderful site, and before I first found ecomodder, I would have bought it too. It sold for $3500.00. I imagine the seller was VERY pleased.

Still not willing to pay it. I have 5 running Metro's on the road to date and I have not yet spent anywhere near that in repair costs. Have I saved it in fuel? Probably. But the way I drive, I could do almost as well with an Acura or Civic, which have much better resale values than Metro's. I haven't checked the KBB price for an excellent cond. Metro lately but I am willing to be that 3500 is almost double that. Ah, well, to each his own. Yeah, if I was the seller I would be tickled pink to get that much out of it. I only hope the buyer is just as happy! |

Wow! Maybe we all should be thankful. I bet most of us got our Metro's reasonable. Makes me wonder about the future. Maybe these cars will be worth more as time goes on. |

I am not going to jump to say you overpaid. 19,000 miles is almost a new car. That and the LSi 1.3 with a 5-speed is a very rare Metro. Besides, how much is too much if it's what you really want? |
