Victory is mine!!!!

Well we finally got a real snow. It all fell early last night and varied around the area from 4 to 7 inches. That's a lot for us. During lunch a couple of the guys decided to play bury Will's Metro. It was really quite funny. Yes, I made them dig it out.

Well, we set a 40 year record... Snowfall totals varied around the area from 6 inches to 9 inches. It was NASTY!!! I have not seen anything like it since I left northern Indiana. We had a lot of accidents, including people from out of state traveling back up north. I know it was getting bad when I saw a car in the ditch with Minnesota plates.

The Metro performed well after being dug back out of the snow. It's weather like this I call "Geo's Revenge". It's the time we go from getting passed to doing the passing.

Yep, small, skinny tires with weight in the front end does these cars well. The only thing keeping them back from being a great all-around winter vehicle is the 3 cylinders have a hard time keeping warm in cold weather.

We got 2-3 inches here in Montgomery and people thought it was the end of the world. I used to live in northern Maine, so i know what a lot of snow is.

Had about 7-8 inches of snow fall late Sunday evening, and then the wind picked up and drifted it all up over night and into Monday. I've got the AWD Subaru and my K2500 truck, but I still need my lil' Geo. Wife takes the Subaru when its bad, so I'm stuck with the truck. I tried to get my Sprint out yesterday, but didn't have any luck. Was just too deep for the tires to climb over. I probably played with it for 30 minutes rocking it back and forth, but never made it out of the driveway. I'm going after some chains for it today so I can at least drive it the rest of the week.

I tell ya, them Subaru's are sweet. Didn't even shovel the snow out of the way of the Subaru and it climbed right over all of it without even spinning. 240,000 miles and 14 years and the thing still goes good. We love our Geo's for everyday driving, but we get some rough ice (and apparently deep snow now) in these parts.

Its been 5 years since we had any amount of snow to cause this much trouble. That's the reason I bought both of these Geo's. Didn't think we needed the 4x4/AWD vehicles anymore.
