Just figured Id post up a project I have been doing for the past forever. I previously had an 87 sprint turbo, and it had died, so I felt so bad for it because it was so awesome, and aquired a 4door geo to transplant the heart and soul of the sprint into. The new car is a 91 geo metro, that i had purchased all the turbo wireharness and ecu, and then swapped the 87 t3 into the car. While it was tricky in a few ways, and still has not started yet, the project is almost complete after i find an ignitor module. A few bits about the car, Custom stainless header and VW k03 turbo, srt4 intercooler, 2.5 ic piping, 2.5" stainless downpipe and exhaust. Once the car is up and running, Ill relocate the battery to the rear for a little better weight location, as well as rear strut brace and possibly a 5 point roll bar, and custom strut/spring swap, along with custom brakes. Here are a few pics to look at. ![]() ![]() not the filter im going to use, it belogs to my bike lol |

Very curious about your experience transplanting the early turbo and wiring into the later car. I've just put an '88 turbo, ECM and wiring into a '92 (convert). My problem is getting the fuel injectors to work (there is fuel pressure and spark). The ECM channel to the injectors appears dead. I have followed the wiring to the ECM but have found no obvious break. Do you know whether a single channel on the ECM can go dead while the others work fine? Cheers Wimsey |

Welcome to the forum, wimsey! We have not seen untamnd since June 22. I suspect with the projects and pets on his web site www.untamnd.com that he has had a busy Summer, Fall and Winter. The forum software does not have updates sent to our e-mail so we will have to wait until he comes back. You could click on his name and where it says Email Address: then Click Here if you want. We do have other turbo owners and members here that can help you.

Wow Sorry for never getting back to this post for so long. I never could find the ignitor module so I give up on that project..... So now the geo has megasquirt on it, and instead of the ignitor I ended up using the gm hei module for the spark. Unfortunatly im going to try and sell the project. I moved from maine to penn, and cant really take the car along, and it needs a new fuel pump, wihich for me would turn into a fuel cell and complete fuel system for some awesome power. No pics of the completed setup, sorry, but if I get some time this christmas ill take some new ones. |
