A whileback I posted the question why my 93 geo 1.0 auto with only 39k miles was getting only 19 mpg. The car has plenty of power, all 3 cyl. have 150 pounds of comp., new plugs, wires, etc. The egr was fine, new pcv valve, all wheels turn freely. Upon a recomendation from one of you helpful members I pulled off the small coolant line that runs to the back side of the throttle body and found that it was plugged up with a white residue similar to concrete. All the passages are plugged as well so the sensor believes the engine is always cold making the car run way too rich. I'm having to replace that part of the throttle body since the best carb. cleaners havn't been able to disolve the residue. I almost positive the "white residue" is some sort of stop leak a previous owner used! I'll let you know what the mpg is when I check next time after the repair is made.

Good to know. Another reason not to be tempted to use one of those stop leak products.

Let me know if you need TBI parts. I bought one for my '91 that I'm planning on cleaning up and then installing so I don't have any downtime. Haven't gotten around to it yet. I have a surge at idle that I need to get rid of.

I've already got parts on the way or else I'd be very interested. Thanks
