No Metro before 95 had power steering, and I'm pretty sure no three cylinder did. That being said, pre 95 Swifts could have it and the two engines are similar enough that it can be done. Not a simple swap though as it never came from the factory.

Sam is one of my favorite Metro parts sellers! :thumb This guy has had everything I have asked of him so far. My latest purchase was for a window crank from one of his ebay auctions. When I told him I really needed 2, he went and found another and sold me that one as well. I have talked to Sam many times and the phone and he is very pleasant to deal with as well as very knowledgeable about Metro's in general. If you need a part, I highly recommend you contact Sam first. :cheers

Sam actually happened to have a rear hatch release that is found on LSi models so you can "pop the rear hatch" at the driver's seat. He sent me the handle, cable, mounting studs, and rear catch complete for easy install. Packaging was perfect and the parts arrived undamaged and ready to install.

I highly recommend Sam's Used Metro Parts Warehouse :)

Johnny, have you installed that hatch release yet? The reason I ask is that starting in 98, in the name of safety, they went to a two stage hatch latch. I'm not sure if that's going to work on this style latch.

It will work if you get a '95-'97 latch from ebay!

Sam Thank you for the engine. My stepfather picked it up from you last fall.We swapped it out this winter and I put the convertible on the road this spring.Much better pickup as I told you before the original engine was only running on 2 cylinders. I haven't been able to get the gas mileage out of it but I've been dealing with a high idle problem. I think it may be the temp sending unit. I'm glad I found you on this forum as I had lost your number and never had a chance to thank you. Rich

Sam, thanks a million for the switch and fuse panel. My headlights are now 100%, and I can drive at night :coffee I did break the coil, so the airbag and horn are now kaput, but :shit happens.

Just received the usual high quality parts from Sam. A nice stock set of speaker covers to replace the broken ones in my door panels. My car thanks you Sam!
