I just put 155/80R12s on the back of my hatchback and already have 145/80R12s on the front. My thinking was greater stability, which it seems to accomplish. It also adds a little height to the rear of the car. Since these are front wheel drive (and I'm assuming the odometer is based off the rpms of the front wheels) will my odometer get screwed up at all? Thanks.

Your assumption about the front wheels providing speedo and odo info is correct, you can put whatever monster truck tires you want on the back and your odometer will still be accurate. That being said, the difference between 145s and 155s is going to be negligible. There's that much variance between different tire manufacturers.

Pickerington,Ohio,--Ive been there before,I used to live in Millersport ,0hio .Near Buckeye lake, close to the drag strip,I was born in Columbus OHIO.But now stuck in Georgia.Small World.---Any way i drive the car i call the Geo Gasser.front tires are 155/80r/12,I put old 64 corvair wheels with P205/60R13 tires on the back, and what a difference ,i also cut the front springs and lowered the front ,one and one haft inches.Handles like a sports car .Last Saturday I was behind a 70S Corvette getting on the freeway,we were flying around the clover leaf ,both cars tires screaming,I was steady gaining on him, when we got on the freeway I got beside him and he wouldnt even look my way ,-- HAY, I BEAT A CORVETTE. :lol

David,
I swapped all 4 tires on my 93 to 155/80/12 (Hurcules brand). Speed increase was 68mph gps at an indicated 65mph on the car speedo. At lower speeds it was closer to a 1.5-2mph gain.

it is rumored that , smaller tires with smaller OD have higher rolling resistance which translates to
less fuel economy and lower value miles per gallon

So far so good. There is a noticeable difference in stability. The look of the car sitting a bit higher in the rear is pretty cool as well....about an inch and a half higher than the front. Last tank I averaged 51 mpg and I wasn't even hypermiling.

A few weeks back I purchased some faux-leather seat covers and black floormats. Along with some other black accessories they really make the interior pop. The seat covers, although black, don't get real hot on my back or legs. Even my wife doesn't mind driving in it now!

Funny story.....my wife used to ride me about my Geobsession. But a few months later I found out that the first car she ever purchased was a 1990 Geo Storm. So she was in the Geo game long before I ever was!
