Fear the Mullet

My best tank ever was last summer at 66.6 MPG. Since the weather has been getting nicer, I have been getting low 60's and expecting mid 60's down the road. The last 2 tanks, I have kept the car at 45-50 MPH since the cam swap and this probably has a lot to do with this.

All I can say is :rocker

So, with all these mods...................

3Tech economy cam.
3Tech 10 degree advanced gear.
Intake mods.
Exhaust mods.
Aerodynamic mods.
LED conversion.
Weight reduction.
50 PSI tire inflation.
Vacuum gauge.
Block heater used daily.

And my driving style, 70 MPG can be done :thumb

I'm not impressed. I've been getting 35 on mine with two burnt exhaust valves and a broken piston!

Seriously, good job! I hope to be up there with you some time but the convertible tranny is going to hold me back.

Johnny's got the same tranny you have. Any three cylinder Metro with 13" wheels gets the 4.39 gears.

That's awesome !!!!!!!!!! Whats the most mpg you can hope to get with a convertible? My father says it would be considerably less because of the aerodynamics. Says it's like running with a bucket.

The best place to learn the most about Johnny's mods is his thread on Ecomodder. He's had that thread going longer than this forum, so it covers a lot more of what he has done. A lot of the stuff you will have seen here, but some things you will not have. Anyway, it's a great read. Here is the link...

I see he replaced his tranny so it may be different gears.

BTW, Johnny - that is a great thread on the other site. You should have a sticky here pointing to it. Definitely one of the best Metro related threads I have seen so far! Thanks for taking the time to post all of that...
