At 45 mph I get like a jetsons space ship sound. No roaring, no vibrations, no change with gear selection or load. It starts to go away at higher speeds. Any ideas? |

The Jetsons TV Intro.: Click Here! Might be more a belt or loose body panel? Is it inside, front of car, rear, left right? I get a rattle from my stick shift that sounds like the knob is loose. Click: The Addams Family Theme (Original 1964) |

It sounds like the drivers side front from under the dash. Maybe a minuture ufo stuck up under the dash? |

I moved my head around while hearing the noise today. It seems when I stick my head in the middle of the front head rests its coming from the rear. It almost sounds like metal on metal follers, like the rear wheel bearings are dried out. Guess I better regreese them? |

I have the Wife sit in the back seat and listen, she's really good at finding noises for me. Or you could have someone else drive and you crawl around listening for noises. If you suspect the bearings, jack it up and spin the wheels? New sealed bearings may decrease roll resistance.

Thanks. The latter half is going to happen. Going to jack it, repack the rear bearings, replace if gritty. I now hear the drivers side cvc join clicking when making tight turns and acceleration and have used half a qt of oil. I am not leaving any pudles, but see the ac pump looks oily, but nothing around the head or valve cover. Yeah, gotta park her again, remove tha timing cover see if its the seal, then likely replace the cvc joint and the bearings. |

Finally got around to replace the rear wheel bearing. Yup, that fixed the "Jestons" noise, the roaring when steering hard. They are sealed ball bearings, 2 each. They were full of rust. |
