Johnny, is there a MPG boost because of the cam @ 55mph? If so, what is it?

:hmm To answer chad8329's question, using the information from Johnny Mullet's ecomodder.com MPG graph and log... I was short 2 mpg, the increase looks like 6 mpg after the 3Tech cam... :D IF you drive like Johnny

So you are getting 60 more miles per tank, so at 50 mpg you save a latte a week or ~$156 a year. That's about 1 year and three months. But you in an instant coffee society you should be enjoying it NOW... :rocker

The economy cam was more worth the extra power than the fuel savings. I can pull the car in 5th gear at 25 MPH and 10 HG vacuum. Climbing hills no longer requires downshifting either unless it's really steep. The cam also allows easy throttle applications when climbing hills.

I am getting the wife a Metro real soon and you can bet I will be contacting Mike about another cam and gear.
well thats more what im talking about is climbing hills... i live right next to the Apalacian mountains... (metroschults can atest for that we crossed 2 of them going to geopalooza) and i would like some more bottom end because right now i can pull "Jack Mountain" in 3rd downshifting to 2nd and the highest speed i get is 35mph... where as in dads ol pickup (granted its got 410s instead of 373s) i used to be able to pull them mountains arround 45,50 comfortably in the straights and as fast as i wanna go if im feelin froggy.... but id like to keep if not improve the mileage and pull the mountains better im thinkin arround the 40,45 mph range in 3rd,4th. thats what i wanna do... now dose that sound more like results from an eco or a preformance?

Is your wife gonna join the fourm as well John? :rocker

potter, I hope see one myself and metroschultz can tell you. I should have a ten degree gear with oem cam and he has an xfi cam which is 5 degrees more and his gear is 5 more for timming advance. Ive been to chapmansville wv in my scion xb and blown tacoma. Both vehicles I pass everything but a pass station. Scion does 27, tacoma 17mpg.

The powerband in my insight is effed up. If the battery is charged, 120lb torque at 1600 rpms, otherwise max hp at 5600 rpms is like 98hp. For the most part it revs like a mutha when it comes to acceleration, passing, etc. It uses the electric most for maintaining speeds of 35mph or less.

3tech, any est delivery? Nothing in the mail yet.

Even if I had shipped them the minute you paid, you still wouldn't have them.
Count on at least 10 business days.
Now... the problem is, I had 2 in stock, when I posted.
I got an order right after that for 1. Then you ordered 2.
I was supposed to go to the core supply yesterday, but being a long holiday weekend here, they are closed.
If all goes well, and I should be able to go tomorrow, get some more, then ship right away.
Hope thats OK.

There was a time when I was desperate for the stamped steel ones. No matter what I did, I could never get enough, but I couldn't give away the spoked ones.. Now I have 6 of them in stock, and no spoked ones.

Sure thing. Yeah, I know you do not over night stuff and seeing its from another country, I know out of states can take a while. I use to order led flashlights from China and it took like 3 weeks to get them. Just give me a heads up on when I should see them. Thanks.
