Yeah, ha, ha, I missed 4th gear. I was holding a camera and driven my automatic the past 3 months.

Past that, I shift after the shift light comes on and take a mph a second.

Here is a video of me coming to speed on i95

I am usually not concerned with getting up to speed myself. I take my time, but don't pussy-foot it either. Once I am up to speed, I maintain it steady and avoid stopping.

With a passenger, I rev past the light by a few hundred RPMs. By myself I shift just before the light.

Depends on who's watching, what song is playing and what kind of mood I'm in. :evillol
I'm inclined to treat my clutch kindly but I love the sound of the engine above 3,500 rpm.
I usually don't care who's watching. :news

Yeah, it does start to sound nice well past the shift light. I try for a second a mph, but I let it slow on hills and speed on the other side.

a second per mph? I think I know why I go through more gas than you guys, I prefer 10-15mph per second and I do it all the time. my tires and my gas tank no longer like me though.... however, I just simply CANT drive nice

edit: plus I spin that bad boy to 8 all day every day haha

My tacoma I always kept up with traffic and pushed either the gas or brake to the floor to go or stop. I did try a mph a second and still got 18mpg.

The metro is quite peppy even in relation to my insight. My insight is very gutless, but it doesnt slow as easily on slight hills or grades. THe insight has a cvt tranny, so it can get into the sweet spot. The metro, got to upshift early.

Dont get me wrong, this is fun to do
