Just picked up my Scangauge II a couple of hours ago . Just wondering if there are any Xgauge codes that will work on the metros ? Thanks, Duane |

I am not sure about the codes, But I am curious on how easy it was to calibrate and what kind of mileage numbers are you getting so far? |

I have a Scangauge II. It's great. I know it does not report Fuel Pressure. There is a page in the manual that has codes for several Xgauges, I set mine up with Cost per Trip Cost per Day. Average miles per Gallon per trip, and others, I constantly check all kinds of things. It is not difficult at all to set up. Just be sure to follow the directions on setting up the gauge to get the actual MPG per tank. |

I already did my first fill up as instructed in the manual and will wait until it gets down to a 1/4 of a tank and do the next step . If I can remember what to do by that time :-) . One thing that I am noticing is that I always lugged the engine by shifting too soon , I am watching my mpg and I am noticing that these little engines like high rpms to get the best mpg. When you shift to soon your gas mpg go way down . When using the scangauge someone on here said that they set the timing from the scanguage , i am just wondering if you have to use the jumper in behind the glovebox (2000 model) when using the scangauge. Thanks, Duane |

That's odd. I experience the exact opposite. For instance, while climbing a hill I leave it in 5th gear. It is a rather long steep hill. At the beginning of the hill I am doing 55. As I get closer to the top I have slowed to 40. If I downshift into 4th I notice the MPG drop several miles per gallon as the RPM's rise. From about 45mpg to 30 mpg. Actually even on a long flat road the same happens. higher RPM's translate to less MPG. |

I am saying that I always shifted to soon , shift too soon and check your mpg . Try accelerating while shifting to soon and still try to get up to 55 mph and tell me what happens . I do agree with you on highway speeds , I guess I am looking at it when I am still accelerating to get up to speed. Kinda hard to explain, Thanks, Duane |

As long as the rpms don't go below 1,000 there's no such thing as shifting too soon. That's the purpose of the upshift light, to get you to shift as early as possible so that the engine stays in it's most efficient range, low rpms. The G10 delivers more torque than horsepower and works best at low rpms. |

ScanguageII is awesome. Easy to follow directions. I recently put 14 inch rims and winter tires on my 97 Metro. The tires were 1/2 inch taller. Followed their formula and adjusted the scanguage by 2%. Now I know that the speedometer reads 103kmph and the scanguage says 100 kmph. As for xGuage stuff go to ScanguageII website. |

My Scan gauge says that the throttle position sensor is at 10-12 when idling , I just wonder if this needs adjusted or if it is fine ? |

I have Current MPG, Tank MPG, and Horsepower as X-Gauges. I also have Boost pressure that I use when I have it in the diesel pickup - converted from PSIA to PSIG at my altitude. Boost gauge does work in the Metro but I don't think it means a whole lot (MAP coverted?). I also have Transmission temp for the diesel, but obviously doesn't work in the Metro. I usually have Current, Tank and Instant MPGs up all the time and then between TPS and HP on the 4th gauge. I am shifting at the greens (3000 rpm), but go into 5th gear around 40-42 mph and stay there. I don't go below around 30 mph in 5th. In the 60's for fuel economy. |

Do you happen to have the X-gauge code for tank mpg and HP ? Also, what is the difference between current mpg and instant mpg ? Thanks so much for your response, Duane |

Current is also Trip MPG, or since you started the car last. Sometimes when I turn the car off and then restart within a couple/3/5 minutes, the Current/Trip will continue on and not be reset. After that it is a new "trip" mpg. Horsepower X-Gauge: TXD +00 RXF +40080000000 RXD +0000 MTH +000A00240000 NAME (ANY 3 Letters - I use HPR) Tank MPG X-Gauge: TXD 0000 (All 0's) RXF +8000 (the rest 0's) RXD +0000 MTH 0000 (All 0's) NAME MGt Current MPG X-Gauge: Same as MGt, except that TXD 0400 (the rest 0's) RXD +3010 NAME MGc If anything doesn't work, let me know and I'll double check everything. I installed the HP and the tank MPG . For some reason the tank mpg resets itself after the ignition is turned off and then back on. And also the HP is way off unless I have a couple of turbos hidden under the hood as I can get up to around 140 HP ! Wondering if you have had this problem ? mine is a 00' model, do you have the same year ? Thanks, Duane |
