thanks for the compliments.

i did some reading, and as it turns out, the 98 metro engine changed to a 16 valve design and adjustable rockers.

any chance they can be installed in this engine? it would be nice not to have to pay 100 bucks for these damn things again...

Everything but the block is different, they also have multi port fuel injection and no distributor. Much better engine design but you'd need to change head, manifolds, throttle body, wiring, computer.....

Now that you've changed them there's no reason to think they won't go another 150K, and by that time, you're not going to want that car anymore, trust me.

well, i intend to keep the car once we get my wife something else. that way, my LUV truck can become my new toy. :rocker

I just figured that it would maybe be better to change the rockers to the manual adjust type.
I figure if i can find a 98 with a good engine, i might buy it complete just to have a spare available.

either way it was worth asking i think. :hmm

16v verses 8v the rockers are going to be different Ive never seen the 16v assembly but it would be interesting to see if the adjusters could be changed. I'm surprised that you got them from napa the dealer wants $60 each for them
