That's a Subaru, completely different car. Not anything inherently wrong with that, but the car William owns is an all wheel drive Suzuki Swift with Subaru badges on it. Basically a high performance Metro. They were never sold in North America, as a Swift or a Justy. |

That's correct, the "real" subaru justy's were built until 1994/5 i believe by subaru itself, most of them are front wheel drive but they were also built with a 4x4 system, that could be switched on and off if you needed it. Also an option was an ECVT gearbox ( electronic continuously variable transmission) I remember one standing on our drive-way when I was little for a few day's when my dad's car was at the dealers. Mine is indeed a re-badged swift, it even says on the VIN plate: suzuki corporation Good news about my car....it runs again after having the fuel pump re-wired, so I'm back on the road again

Lot's of snow has been falling lately, so why not take the car for a spin and take some nice pictures in the countryside ![]() ![]() ![]() As you might notice, the car sits a bit higher up front, this was to prevent the wheels from rubbing in the arches under agressive braking/turning. This was achieved by taking the stock front springs and cutting half a coil from them and remounting them, also slotted the upper bolt holes to make camber adjustments possible for when the weather gets better during spring and mounted some sport-type brake pads to stop a bit sooner

I noticed that it must have been wind driven snow from the West to stick to that tree the way it did. Nice countryside. Car still looks sweet.

Haha, well spotted that direction from which the snow came, hadn't even noticed it myself. The snow is finally gone, apart from a very white beginning of last week when we were celebrating "carnaval" here in the southern part of the Netherlands. Tiny update: car had to be inspected a couple of weeks ago and it passed without a single remark ![]() So i treated it with a little service: new spark plugs / oil and oilfilter upcoming will probably be a new cam belt and tensioner, because i have no information about the swapped engine like how long the belt has been on there |

We just had our "carnival" also, any excuse to party, eh. Actually I hibernate during ours, to many American tourists. We still have maybe 1/2 a meter of snow on the ground here, cold nights, -15C, and days around 0C. One interesting thing about the states is the variety of climates in the different latitudes at the same time. Just ask geminiheartz about snow. Wahoo on the inspection! ...and my friend Jim always does a little pat and rub on the dashboard with some kind words.

The Great Snow Ball Engagement of 2010. Somewhere in Holland. I have always really enjoyed going to Holland. I just wish I could remember more of the trip from 1985.

Okay, let's give this topic an update ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() - front bumper has been modified a bit because i didn't like the gaps on the lower half, so they have been filled with polyester and resin. - the spotlights have gone behind the remaining holes - fixed the rear bumper which had suffered from some people not paying attention while parking - new sun strip on the upper half of the windshield - better grounds and more grounds - new timing belt /tensioner and water pump - lower strut brace mounted Also some servicing is coming up because in the summer the car will be on a road trip to italy

I'm going to go to Europe with empty suitcases, buy an AWD system from the transmission back, pack it into my bags, pay the "overweight luggage" charge and bring it back with me! I need one! Totally sweet ride man ![]() I can see the airport security now... excuse me sir, what's in your bag? Its a transmission. Yeah right, cavity search time! lol
