I checked out the ,NGK website and found they offer a plug called an LRIDIUM LX, with an Lridium electrode tip .It has a small skinny tip like yours and they sell for 7.99 each that maybe what you have.

Application chart for a 1991. http://www.sparkplugs.com/results You can change that on the Home page. If you 'mouse over' the plugs the picture change So we know why it was running rich?

So what about the no start condition? pull the dist cap and see if the rotor is turning when you crank it. If no spin, timing belt is your culprit. If it's spinning when you crank the engine, report back. But definetly get the spark pluggs figured out. |

put new plugs in it still wont start trys to but just wont kick over. I am going to pour a little oil in the cylinders because i think the got washed with fuel. also going to make sure timing belt has not jumped. need to remove cover any way to replace waterpump. this all started after i did 2/3 of the seafoam treatment. just did oil and fuel have not done intake yet. poured 1/3 in oil , 1/3 in gas and drove it like 135 miles. died out at my apt. |

Thanks bogs. So the distributor was recently removed, I wonder if the coil wire has come loose. If you reworked your headlights maybe a wire/ground has become loose. You are getting fuel, it's flooding, if you floor the pedal does it start? Then we ask is it flooding because of a bad MAP, TPS or maybe TB coolant hoses? But the last things I did to the engine and things that make it run rich are what I'd test.

nope never pulled dizzy as it died before i could do the seal. I am thinking i might just pull motor and rebuild as the car body is still in real good condition. Just will be a slow rebuild as funds are low. This way i can do some other work to engine such as cam, shaving head, etc. But will see what is the problem first. i am going to do a compression test then leak down and see what i got. |

well did compression test found #2 at 80lbs put oil in cylinder went up to 83Lbs rotated engine over so valves were closed put som compressed air in cylinder air leaking thru intake. so i have a burnt or bent valve. so i will start to take head off and rebuild the head. Or does anybody have a good used head laying around for cheap |
