had this problem for awhile, will drive fine as long as I am gentle.. but as soon as I have to dart out quickly into traffic and I press hard on the gas pedal it chokes, if I press hard enough it will stall. Is this fuel related? I have already replaced ignition coil, spark plugs, and spark plug wires within the last 6 months.

Victory is mine!!!!

The first things i would do:
1. Check all of the vacuum lines you can find for leaks
2. Check the timing
3. Check compression and post results here

Post up afterwards and let us know what you find.

Also what do you spark plugs look like? Is is possible for you to get on a stretch of road where you can safely get off and check the plugs? Get it to do this, and pull a plug there. Not when you get home. It may have cleaned its self up by then. If its black a sootie, its to rich. If its very white its to lean. Main thing is to be safe checking it out

assuming that new ignition coil is good AND
the rest of the 2ndary spark components are good .... ?
and you DID NOT install Bosch Platinum +4 spark plugs ....
=====================
i would connect a scope to 2ndary spark to start
which is like an EKG for your engine ...
but you probably do not have a scope
so
==========================================
hard to tell from your description ...

i would use scan data to look at the MAP sensor and 02 sensor at the same time
logging the data if possible,

step on throttle hard and see ....

if MAP goes high and 02 goes low , you are running out of fuel
if MAP goes high and 02 goes high as well ,
very likely you have a clogged exhaust , probably stuffed cat .

if you do not have scan tool available to you, you can use a DVOM too
reply with
test results or questions for more guidance
=============
ahh
i see you have an automatic transmission ....
does the kick down function work ?
does the transmission down shift when you stomp on the throttle .
