I have a problem guys, and i'm about to have to sell the Geo. It needs a TON of little things, and one or two big things, done to it. I have 0 money to put towards it, but my dad kinda "owes" me. That is a whole other bag of worms.

I am going to post all the problems I can think of, and I need your guys help either diagnosing or telling me a rough estimate on how much they cost.

Floor is wet in the rain, pretty sure it's the seal around the door.
It turns left better than it turns right, I can't really explain it.
Hatch rattles a bunch.
Needs new door latches, inside.
New locks for outside.
Windows won't roll up.
Needs new rotors.
Engine surges.

Big:
Transmission doesn't like second, I double clutch.
Engine smokes, needs rebuild. Gets good on the compression test.

There are tons of other things, but those are the biggest ones.

Floor is wet....windows wont roll up. Not the same issue? (Vice the door seal)

Keep the car. She needs you. How does your dad "owe" you?

It's supposed to be "our" project vehicle, he has put about 300 into it and I have put about 600 (and he was the one that wanted to fund it)

Nope, not the same problem.

It's wet while sitting. I'm pretty sure it's the seal.

I have determined that my dad will do the bare minimum to support me since my parents divorce. So, I'm just gonna get a job and make my own money. I have a question now. Do I sell the Geo now, or do I keep it? I can probably make enough money to get it fixed in a month or two.

This is you, so you must be online

Rattling hatch:

This one drove me nuts for a while. I adjusted the little rubber bumpers at the bottom and that took care of the noise... well, most of it. The other noise came from the hatch struts. A few of the mounts had come loose. I tightened it up and that took care of it.

Now I need to get rid of all the other noises in my car.

It is getting harder to replace Geos, especially with one who's issues you know. The next one you find will have someone else's issues and you start over again. :banghead Next question will be do you think the 50 mpg, easy to work on, inexpensive, easy to maintain Geo is the car for you? :dunno

IMHO, keep it.

I was planning on keeping it, before I posted this. :P

Now for some more questions. Do I rebuild the head myself, or do I buy a built one? I do plan on rebuilding the bottom end by myself, unless I start f'ng stuff up.

thanks guys.

So I have gotten some info that it may be valve guides causing the smoke. So now, I will work on saving up money for other parts.

Now, a poll...

What color do I paint it? It has to be a Rustoleum color, because i'm going to use that.
