I have a 89 metro witha 5spd the engine is out of a 90 xfi I think . It dropped a cyl so I did a cmpression test, after which the car wouldnt start. I have checked the firing order & it does have spark. I also checked to make sure the timing belt hadnt slipped. So I read the book and did the test again this time pulling the fuel pump relay like it said. After putting it back together it started. I opened the shop door to pull it out now it wont start again :banghead My other work rig is a 89 chev 1ton it is eating me out of house & home I need to get this thing running thanks for any help

You need to find out what the problem is before relying on it to drive. Check for codes in the system......

You also said it dropped a cyl? What were compression readings?

:gp And welcome to the forum, jlyons! :coffee

So, "pulling the fuel pump relay like it said" fixed it the first time, eh. :hmm I'll speculate (but you need to test) a ground, like the one on the TB, and the ECU wires http://geometroforum.com/topic/2539369/1/ post #27.
