Central Idaho at 5,000 feet elevation and I get 46 mpg in the Winter with my mods in my '91. Now the Wife has a 3Tech "econo" cam and +10 cam gear and she has forgotten when she filled up last. She drives around town or walks. She also has a '96. General rules are Winter fuel mixes are a bad thing and for every 10 deg. drop you get 1 less psi in the tires and air density goes up 2% and road friction increases.

Winter gas mileage in all vehicles drops significantly in the Northern states. I doubt 3 cylinders are any worse. Mark |

Spent 25 years in Idaho (just a bit south of Bad Bent), most of those years I had a Metro (completely stock, no mods at all). I typically experienced approximately a 10-15% drop in mileage from summer to winter, as you might expect the colder it got the bigger mileage hit. |

I am getting 42 in winter (higher idle, cold starts, more volitiles in gas, higher alcohol content, studded tires, pushing snow), 50 in summer. |
