ok so i am in the process of reassembling my g10 motor after some new bearnings rings and valves being installed. My question is when i turn the camshaft over is is very smooth and has no pressure and seems that is does not close the valves. Also I put my compression gauge on and turn the crank with a wrench and it shows no compression. Im hoping its just because there is no oil pressure in the lifters but im unsure. Thanks for your imput.

Got 70 MPG?

Have you dissasembled and cleaned your hydraulic lifters? If not, you need to. When they are clean, fill the insides up with oil prior to putting them back together. They should be good to go then. :thumb

My question would be, are you sure you have it in time? Did you lap the new valves? The springs are what is going to close the valves.

That settles it then, they're most likely gummed up and colapsed.

Might just be collapsed and will pump back up but it would be a bitch to get it all back together to find out they're clogged. Sometimes clogged lifters will pump up too much and hold the valves open, burning them. At least now you can pull them back out without disturbing the head.

You should soak the lifters in a tub of motor oil after cleaning before installing them also.
