There is so much I would love to say about toyota but I can not type fast and I would be here all day
Maybe because I work for ford
But I don't care if a car is built in the usa or not when you buy a car from foreign company all money goes back to that country
I hope toyota goes down big time for this
Have a little pride for your country and buy american
I know it is hard to buy everything american but I try to if you whant to give foreign countrys your money maybe you should pack up your stuff and go live there and work there for next to nothing

I have always liked Toyota. I have driven one since the mid 80's. They had cars great on gas and reliable before any of the big three. I still own a 2004 Corolla with 265K miles and no issues. I recently got myself and family involved with Metro's because the car can achieve hybrid milage at a fraction of the cost. Something the automakers can't seem to figure out. With technology today, there is no reason a 100 mpg car is not avaliable. Don't get me started on the dumb...I mean "smart" car. Why that small thing only gets like 36 mpg is beyond me. My Corolla gets better.............

Toyota is not a bad car, it's just the way the company is handling the matter that pissed the consumer off.

Most people have pride for their country. I do. I served in the US ARMY during desert shield/storm. Buy American is no excuse to accept poor quality, which is what the big three have been putting out for the last 3 decades. Recently Ford has earned some respect with not taking bailout money and having a car (focus) crack the top 10 cars in america. Chrysler and GM shouldn't have been bailed out, as it was the companies fault for there own down fall. No company should be to big to fail.

Truth is Japan is still in denial about "comfort stations" during war with China.
Ask any Marine about Japan's Hirosima's day...I know this is political but having relatives in WW2, myself, & my son doing a 3rd tour soon, I tend 2agree with Samp9983.
Toyota just needs 2Man up about their problems.
They still won't admit things from their past. Seems to be their nature.

As someone posted, the newer cars are getting way too techie and have some problems. I am debating getting rid of my 1990 Nissan Sentra as I just bought another Metro. The Sentra is very basic with no power steering, no airbags, no power windows or locks but it sure is reliable.
