:gp SOOOO true :lol
And yah @ Cobb, I sure doubt anything the factory offered as stock would be prone to easy failure since they would have to fix it for the first few years. Obviously any engine can fail if abused past its point of limit, i.e. flooring it away from every stoplight supercharged or not. Did not know they offered dealer installs of that, thought they were all factory installed units :dunno

there must be a reason the chevy cobalt ss went turbo and got faster than its supercharged predecessor.

You make more total HP with the same PSI with a turbo than you do a supercharger.

^^^is my next statement
Possibly, but not linearly as you would with a supercharger. Both forms take hp to make hp, both forms produce more than they take (otherwise neither would be worthwhile) of the two forms, the best compromise for someone looking to accelerate quickly is going to be a supercharger.

If your just looking for a highway loader, then a turbo would be the way I'd suggest you go. Each has +'s / -'s, for Murf's application a supercharger would be more beneficial .

Some pretty good reading on the topic can be found -> here <- :)
Thats why you use both! :D

Supercharger for your low to mid power....and a huge turbo for your top end! :P

If the proper turbo is selected with close flow characteristics as the engine the boost will be almost instant.
Same can be said with a supercharger however it's an endless debate because of the many types of turbos and superchargers that have been build. Many Sc's will fall on there face because they stop flowing at a certain rpm while others don't work hard until higher rpm's.
It's all in the cfm you want to produce from to power adder and what you want from it. Just remember psi is considered a flow restriction, pumps don't build pressure restrictions do!
With that being said I wounder if the wife you be upset if I put my m90 on the Geo lol.

In the way back. The drag racers used to put the C.I.D on their front fenders or hoods. With our engines being 993 cc's. What would that be in CID? Then what would it be for a 1076cc engine?

Very true. Example: engine makes 200HP on 8PSI of boost... after replacing the intake manifold with a custom fabbed one the engine makes 220HP on 7PSI of boost.

Having owned both supercharged and turbocharged cars I know the ups and downs of them both. That said, I'd love to see a supercharged 1.0!
