Hey guys,

I'm about to go look at a 97 3cyl and the add says all it lacks is a distributor and it was running, we'll see.

I've had a few of these cars in the past, all 3cyl. Nothing newer than 94 though, I know they became interference engines after a certain year, But I'm not sure if there is anything else I should know about difference wise between a 97 and say a 91?

Did they have any real physical design changes in the Block, Intake, Head etc....

Thanks, Lance

The G10 3 cyl in a non-interference engine. Some books, manuals and online resources are incorrect. Only the DOHC 1.3L is an interference engine.

The G10 block and head are the same from 1989-2000 so you should use the intake setup from the original vehicle for it to work.

Welcome to the forum, lc_102! :coffee

Don't forget the rust issues, mainly around the control arms. Buyer's Info. Also '96 and new have OBDII diagnostics plus you might be getting into power steering, power locks and air bags. :dunno :thumb
