![]() So I've been looking for one of these for a while. I wanted a 4 door with the 16V engine and a 5 speed but I always seemed to find 8V 5 speeds or 16V autos. So when this came up I had to grab it. The original owners were pretty meticulous in their maintenance. They have a spiral notebook that has every tank of fuel, oil change, tire change and other service logged in it since the car was new, a stack of receipts and even the original window sticker! Yeah, I have quite a stack of papers that came with this car. The trans in it was toast. They had the driver side axle replaced and the work order didn't say anything about replacing the axle seal. So the trans is coated in gear oil and the case is empty. They tried to fight the shop but they said it wasn't their fault and wouldn't budge on the matter. So instead of paying to rebuild the trans they decided to sell it instead. So my gain on that one I guess. I already picked up a trans from a nearby city and as soon as I get a clutch and rear main seal (hey, already there so why not) I'll swap them in and have her back on the road! I'm a disabled vet and climbing under the car isn't going to be a treat but I'm on such a tight budget that I can't afford to pay shop labor. No worries, I can handle it! ![]() That dent on the hood is the only damage I could find. A really clean car. ![]() ![]() Interior is really clean and even smells fresh. ![]() Engine needs a good scrubin' though. I can't believe how much simpler this engine is under the hood compared to the TBI setup on the 3 and 4 cylinder ones. Hardly any vacuum lines, carbon canister is by the tank and even the coils and wires are tucked away on the valve cover. Oh yeah, it has AC and power steering. This baby has everything! It's like driving a Lexus or something!

Very nice, interior is lovely. Lay some silver spray paint on those hubcaps, it'll make a huge difference. |

Arent we a sad bunch, lol. These are our dream cars, seriously? J/J, these are great little cars, I wont drive any other since im so used to the gas mileage! Nice score! I always liked the 4 door, it would be nice to actually have a trunk. How does the mileage compare between the 3 cly. hatchback and sedan? |

A geo with power steering is the dream? Don't they already have power steering? If my car was any easier to turn, it would probably wander all over

The sedan will get some front page love for a change ![]() Nice car! Silver spray paint will do those hubcaps some justice. I blast mine with a fresh coat every year. At first, they are super shiny, but then look normal after awhile and last about a year before a thin re-coat will be needed. Also try and polish them headlights or just swap to the bucket style. I think the buckets look so much better in my opinion. |

Congrats on the car. Make sure when you yank the trans to use a board or something to hold the engine up. I use a 2x4 that sits on the rad support to the plastic my the wiper arms and then a bike tie down to hold engine up. 2 of the mounts are on the trans. Good luck with it. I hope your really like your new to you car. |
