Hey Brian. On your hard shift into 1/2. Check your adjustment on your clutch. And when you change the trans fluid. Use a thinner oil. The adjustment should have about 1/16-1/8" free play between the arm and the nut on the cable. Also is it hard to get into Revearse? Sorry had to go for a minute. Our trans our known for having bad 1/2 gears, and 1/2 sliders. People tend to run them hard in those gears. Second is from hard up shifting. First is from down shifting hard.

Yes...but the reverse prob. has been recent. I was worried the clutch was going b/c I'm a first time stick shift driver (teaching GF later today) but it does everything fine when im stopped except reverse can be a bit iffy at times. Usually when its cold. |

Did I say something? To support Mr. Murf's suggestion I'm switching to Syncromesh (Pensoil?) on my next oil change. It should make it a bit easier to shift while still protecting the metal. -Headlight Problem [http://geometroforum.com/topic/2575236/1/#new] -Horn and Cig. Lighter doesnt work [fuse or grounds?] -Signal Light went out today [bulb?] -Interior roof has small hole [epoxy?] -Cant get aftermarket rear view mirror to stick on right [Gorilla glue? Parts shops sell a glass/metal glue] -Really want it to be painted Blue or Black or Purple [Rustoleum Roller Paint Job] -Need dash cover that goes around air vents [ebay.com/dash+cover+geo+metro -Need Radio -Need to fix radio wiring [after market?] -Need new fuse box [Sam or metroschultz, Junk yard?] -Wiper Blade Handles have Rust [Rustolium] -Trunk props dont work, using shovel handle [parts shop on-line or eBay] -Need oil change [quality 5W30 synthetic] -want to smoke turn signals and tail lights (very light though!) [Tint Tail Lights & Stay Legal by Cobb] -really want some cup holders [eBay?] |

April 22nd 2010 update. After painting the middle part of the steering wheel black I traced the "METRO" with a white paint pen. Picture Below. Gas Fill Door Painted Black Hood Painted Black Whole car carpeted with Black carpet. Pulled Rear seat out and painted underbelly with black paint to protect against rust. Filled sides with great stuff. Heres a quote from another posting. "I used great stuff in the pockets on ither side of the rear seat. I also sprayed rustolinium anywhere there was rust or where I had cleaned up that gross car mold looking stuff. I tried 2 different kinds of Great Stuff. I tried window/door and outdoor. The window/door is much tighter and didnt fill in nearly as much, but the outdoor is very open and the foam isnt as thick. I cant really tell which is doing a better job, but if I had to guess it would be the window/door. After spraying it in I had it poof out of the pocket a bit. I took a razer blade and simply trimmed off the excess with one long cut. Can I tell a difference? Yes! There is no air wooshing back through the pocket and its much quieter. Though the air "leak" was small it was still enough that it kind of whistled. It couldnt have been more than a small pin hole or two though. Pictures Below Enjoy: ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() "I added 2 new lights on the front. Pics soon I adjusted headlights so they wernt pointing straight to the ground *facepalm* Fixed Cig. Lighter (ground wasnt plugged in) Bought a Cig Lighter fan. Its like the ones they use in school buses. I mounted it to my dash. It blows air across both seats. Washed Windows with RainX Clean/Protect Tried to tint back side windows...failed miserably... Lastly. I checked the oil. Aparently that slow oil pan leak is a bit worse than I thought. I was running on 1 quart of oil. I added a little more than 3 more. I will be replacing the gasket this weekend. Thanks for reading! |
