According to Mitchell OnDemand...................

Oil pressure should be 48-56 psi at 4000 RPM

It does not state idle pressure. I would assume you need at least 8-10 PSI at idle.

18 PSI should be plenty. Where exactly is this noise coming from?

it doesnt sound like a knocking.... like a rod. it sounds more like a loud tapping coming from the upper part of the engine.

do the old trick of listening with a piece of wood to your ear to locate the sound better?anything will work even a piece of hose..
remove the spark plug wire when running to see if the sound changes. good news though that you have oil pressure,,

How thick was the oil you put in? A long handle screw driver works for the listening thingy too

Since you have good oil pressure, it sounds like your lifters are draining out or their gummed up (or their gummed up causing them to drain) lol, my engine does the exact same thing, it will quiet up when fresh oil is added (when running).

EDIT.... and it will start being tappy again a few mins later like yours.

the lifters are all new so im not sure it they would be gummed up.I just dont like running the new engine with that noise. The longer it runs the lounder the noise gets.Since the noise is coming from the top left toward the crank pully i thinking the problem i have is in the head???
what do you guys think??

From here it sounds like your gonna have to reopen it up and put the mark one eyeball on it. I hate having to reopen projects. But sometimes its a must do.

change the sender to see about the light, pull the plug wire to see if its the piston or valve train
