Heres the metro I am going to get, most likely. The front end is all crumpled up, but hopefully nothing structural is damaged. I offered $200, and they took it.![]() ![]() ![]() I'm excited. |

1996 metro, 3/5, 2 door hatchback, asking price $400. Stanford, KY (about 40 miles) Not much info on condition, pics look good. http://lexington.craigslist.org/cto/1633628967.html Like i said, they took 200. Haven't heard when to pick it up yet, probably next day or two. |

Probably can't go wrong for $200. You could get more than your money back on the parts and scrap alone. The front end damage, unless it bent the frame stands, can be banged out with a heavy hammer or sledge. I'm working on a 92 XFi with front end damage and you'll be surprised how easy it is to bang out. My only concern would be the frame rot at the forward control arms. Any insight there? |

Haven't seen it yet. We don't get too much road salt here, so I'm hoping its alright. If its too rusty I may try to knock $50 off. Still waiting to hear back on when. I'm excited, bogs.

Im going to look at it tomorrow. Probably will pay for it and come back another day with a dolly. I am going to: do a compression test, check for rust at the A arms, look for frame damage from the wreck, and drive it around a little. What else should I take with me, or be looking for?

KY... I'm excited that you might be getting your metro. Since you're asking for other info...if it's been wrecked, was the car 'totaled' by the insurance company? I don't know what the rules are by you, but up here it would mean clear title issues. Also, double check for coolant leaks on the radiator. A new one is about $120.

to what Jitt said, titling a wreck can always be a pita on the other side of that, maybe your next find will be a pristine body with a blown engine... ![]() |

Well, the guy called and I asked him about the title, he said its clear, as far as he remembers. IE no insurance claim made. So, what else should I check on? |

$200 and the engine is in it? I paid $300 and the engine was in the hatch. In pieces. I would not be to selective, you get a title, it was running before the accident, they even know a place where you can get parts. I would be careful not to leak any fluids getting it home.

Very cool find. I've been looking for something like that for parts for my 95. If I was smart I would find something like that and use my 95 for parts! |
