Redid the test: 188, 189, 168ish

It seems like the compression tester just tells me what I want to hear. My plan for this weekend is to replace the muffler and see if the cat is clogged.

What are symptoms of a clogged cat? I cut my muffler off which consisted of cutting one bracket, because the pipe had rusted all the way through. The exhaust tone didn't change one bit...lol

Yah, by the time it reaches the muffler, I guess there isn't much left to muffle. You saw the pictures of the muffler that was on my car when I bought it, I swear it didn't sound like much of anything.

So when I drove around, I think I smelt gas more than I usually did with the Geo... finally got around to checking the CEL... 41 "Ignition Fail-Safe Signal Circuit"

Hey Coche, have you ever cleaned out your egr and passages?

Also 14 & 15 are coolant temp sensor codes:

14: CTS circuit low
15: CTS circuit high
24: VSS Circuit
25: IAT Sensor Circuit
42: Crank Angle Sensor Circuit
51: EGR malfunction

What I would do personally is clean all the grounds... including the two on the back of the intake manifold, which most of those code's sensors ground to, and clean the egr, then disconnect the batt for 1 min and reconnect and see if they reappear after a week or two of driving.

I haven't done crap really. I think i'm going to take off the EGR tonight, see what we get with that.

Did you really see all of those codes? lol I sure didn't.

no but i gathered all the "possible" codes from the numbers we got, since its hard to tell...

remember, when you pull the egr off, start her up, if you hear exhaust noise...that side is good and not plugged, put your finger over the intake side and you should feel a good suction, mine clogged on the intake side...i felt no suction. :D
