I was wondering if your parents would be impressed if you put ~$300(?) in the bank, savings, and used the rest on the car. :dunno And what about further education expenses?

For resale the "econo" grind cam and a +10 cam gear would be best as a selling point. IMHO.
I never put my money in the bank, my dad has access to it there.

I've decided i'm going to rebuild it, and put in an econ cam with the gear. And then keep it as long as I feel necessary.

My plans: (now)
Performance cam/economy cam
3 tech performance/economy head
aluminum underdrive
grounding kit
new exhaust; quite with flow (not Flo Murf..)
ram air, DIY of course
lower/cut springs (done)
KYB struts (not a top priority)
sway bars from sedan
tint
stereo

The more I start driving this car the more I love it. I drove my truck for like the past month, and I get better looks in the truck than I do this car...lol but this thing is so much fun. I just wish I could merge on the interstate.

Still figuring out how I want to spend my cash. I think I am going to just get a 3tech head package right now, because number 1 and 2 cylinder read 190PSI. I think number 3 has a burned exhaust valve, causing the reading of 150. If I pull the head and it doesn't, i'll rering.

Is that a bad idea?

I think that is a good plan. I wish I had the money for a 3tech head package, I am going to have to do all the work on my head myself. But once again your plan sounds great to me.

Got to the junkyard. 1995+ body style sedans were everywhere, along with my 4 door Geo. Remember the thread? For those of you who don't, here it is. They must have not been able to find the title, and instead of telling me, they just sold it for scrap. Does anybody need parts from a 4 door? Chad?... It's a 5 speed, but the junkyard i'm dealing with is run by arrogant jackasses that have no business sense. Needless to say, I did not buy anything from them, nor will I go back unless you guys need something from that 4 door.

Filled up the Geo, 49mpg. I can't seem to break the 50mpg mark. For that tanks I had the back half of the exhaust off, loud as heck. Now I have everything back on but a muffler. I hope to get a little more backpressure with this set up.

Just an update: I am the slowest mechanic I know. I can handle all the work required I just don't feel like it's needed right now. :P

Right now i'm rounding up parts from junkyards and random members. Eventually, I will get all of this done.

On a side note, I took the Geo through a new neighborhood that isn't done (aka i autoX'd on public roads), body roll and all it was pretty damn fun. Now only if I could correctly use the "slow in fast out" method.

That sounds like it was a blast!

And if I would have had another 50hp it may have been fast too!

LOL I did that, and unfortunately there were curbs. Due to the bad alignment on the car I hit one and popped a tire :( Now that my suspension is taken care of the car is great :D
