Mine is sturdy, there is a 10mm bolt that holds it in place. If yours is loose I would check to see if that bolt is still there or if it is loose. |

There is a 10mm bolt that ties it down, and it should have an O ring on the bottom. And the Oring should be nice and supple. Not hard like a rock. |

Battery relocation good idea or not depends on your preferences always. It does require some work, but frees up a LOT of space under the hood and is usually a safer way to have it. Make sure you take venting into account when doing it as well. |

Getting around to clearing up the CELs. After I got the EGR working again... Code "21". TP Sensor Circuit Signal Voltage High. Searched the forum, no help. Is that Throttle Position Sensor? |

Throttle Position Sensor. Too high might be a bad ground. |

Does it get 'higher' when you turn it? Because I adjusted it a few months ago to get it to stop bogging/stalling in first. |

Fun times. I'll upload some pics. I'm just getting it ready for Palooza, i don't think i'm gonna do the rebuild before then, I don't want something fudging up a day from home. Battery relocation is starting, I may have to cut some more off the rear coils, without the battery up there it sits higher. lol Side note (totally unrelated): I was talking to a guy at AutoZone about weight distribution. He said he put a weight in the back of his car to make it 50:50... I said, "That's not helping anything." He said something like it corners better and I said, "No, you've added weight you have to accelerate/decelerate past the rear axle. More weight is always worse for handling." We went out to his car. The dude had a 45lbs olympic plate BOLTED to where his spare tire would go in the trunk. I just facepalmed and took vacuum hose home. Edited by Coche Blanco, Jul 4 2010, 02:35 PM.

I've been tidying up the engine bay I want it presentable for Geopalooza. I didn't move the battery behind the seat that will have to wait. I got the grounds cleaned for the most part I may have not gotten them all. Oh, and the alternator pulley bolt is impossible to get off without an impact wrench. Arg. I was able to replace all the vacuum hoses, one or two of them were cracked. I also seafoamed it twice earlier today, it smoked a little bit both times nothing major. Still taking pics |

Since about three days ago. I got off my ass and started working on the Geo. Well, I got it about 98% back together. We lost an alternator bolt in the process of eating/shooting fireworks/honking the train horn. So I need to get some more of those. I never got the pulley off, so I never got it clean. I love this day. Edited by Coche Blanco, Jul 4 2010, 09:14 PM.

I can't figure out how much to tighten the timing belt tensioner...Is it always supposed to be maxed out? My old belt maxed out the adjustment and my new belt maxes out the adjustment. You loosen the tensioner then rotate the engine a couple times backwards (so the slack "pushes" to the tensioner) then tighten the tensioner back without letting it get slack.
