>>>>>> Note new added message at very bottom! <<<<<<<< From what I've read this is a terrific little club you folks have here. And nice people in it. Shame more people don't have the smarts to get these cars like us. (Yeah, thats it! we could name them Smarts Cars! Cause we're big time smarts!) I'm TJ in Denver. I've had several metros in the past, Even bought a coupe brand new in 93. And I've had a 90 metro convert(red) for about 5 years not running behind the barn so to speak. 3/5 (hence catsinMetro's)(a $200 purchase) Cause a knocking from the motor. And just bought a 93 Electric blue convertible 3/5 at auction. ($400) police impound. (will probably make that back & more by selling the drugs I found in it! ) JUST KIDDING, JUST KIDDING ! On the blue one the top is a mess. Thats why the guy got pulled over because of an obstructed rear window (unsafe vehicle-arrested). The front bow that attaches to the windshield is made of pvc plastic, its shattered on both ends where the convert top side bows attach. So trying to rebuild that to make it work. Have written a couple guys here to see about parts got no response. Motor smokes, clutch bad. So bought another motor at the junk yard out of a really clean car that was in a front end wreck. My buddy said just don't buy the brakes! The red one has been sitting way too long. But need it running too. The girl friend lives 70 miles away and I been looking for work for 2 years now. So $ tight. Metro's to the rescue! So in my junk yard excursions I ran across a XFI today that I bought the camshaft, tapets, brain box out of. ( hope I got the correct parts) To make a super mileage convert. Some time would like to find a four door. So with the help of you folks I can make these cars a running dream. thanks !>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Oh ! forgot to mention !!!! <<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<< I am an accomplished mechanic, but not a professional. I Do complete rebuild on brakes transmissions, motors, carbs, drive shafts, ect. Not afraid to working on anything. ( except new cars with cramped engine compartments) LOL I collect old Plymouth, Dodge,& Chrysler products, and have several 30's thru 60's. My favorites are 39 Plymouth coupe (currently putting in complete new brakes and floor boards, and doing my own upholstery in it, have my own industrial sewing machine.) 56 Dodge 2dr hdtp, 58 Plymouth 2dr with a Hemi in it. (Christine)( both need restoration) And many more. Currently daily driver, a 55 Plymouth (first V-8 for plymouth) 4 brl dual exhst. (for sale) Sucks gas like I own my own oil company. And I have always liked metro's, especially convertibles! One convertible I bought some years ago had been in a terrible T-bone wreck. I cut off the front end & grafted on another from a coupe, and magically a new convert was born ! Metro's can be saved. Remember only so many converts were made, every time one is scrapped out. Will NEVER come back!
