I made an alignment tool to reattach the bell housing of a TH-150 3 speed automatic transmission that I rebuilt out of my '90 Geo Tracker.

I made it out of gray PVC, 2 decorative drawer knobs and an old timing belt. I have a pic somewhere...matter of fact, it worked so well I put in the specialty tool drawer of my tool chest.

I use the starting fluid method occasional on the mounting tires thing on stubborn tires. I used to just throw the match but now I take a broom handle and tape me some paper around the end and light it. That way you can stand back and put the fire to it. The trick is to get the spray inside the tire. I have been going to make me one of these,

Why you Mutt!

True story...

Many years ago, I drove a 1962 Rambler American. One night, I was driving across a parking lot, and decided to straddle one of the concrete barriers between parking spaces. Unfortunately, there was a piece of rebar sticking up just high enough to dig a hole in the oil pan. Heard a scrape, when I got to the other end of the parking lot the oil light came on, and I saw a trail of motor oil behind me.

Called my dad the next day, he suggested I bring the oil pan by so he could braze the hole. This I did. This was a few months, at most a year before he passed away from emphysema. He had one of those little oxygen tanks on a tiny dolly that he could take with him to help out if he became short of breath.

So, I took him the oil pan and he got out his brazing kit. He discovered that he had no oxygen in the little tank to mix with the fuel. He scratches his head for a second, goes into the house, and returns with the little oxygen tank on a dolly, and hooks it up to the brazing kit.

"Hey...it's oxygen...It'll work just fine". And it did...oil pan never leaked again.

myself and dad have tried to get the Highland County Fair Association to do this during the fair.. i think it would be a GREAT fund raiser... sell a spot for 5 bucks a pop... but they have too much going with the Demolition Derby, Truck pull, and Bull ridein.
