Hi, Daniel from northwest New Jersey. I was usually on the yahoo groups geo metro forum but found this place a few days ago. I am trying to keep two metro's still on the road, a 94 xfi (sky blue) and a red 96 base hatchback, formerly my "red lemon" but it's been very good with few major problems the past 30,000 miles and just passed 200,000 this month. The blue 94 has repeatedly failed NJ inspection, and it's almost road-worthy again but needs a new door (it locked permanently, both inside and out, refused to open and I lost my temper and now there's a huge crowbar-induced gash on the side of the door).

I used to run a website called metromodpage.com with some simple modifications; my favorites were gauge additions like oil pressure, in addition to a few other items. The domain registration costs became too high so I discontinued it, I might bring it up again in the future.

Talk to you later,
Dan

seriously though I passed fine but the one gas was borderline. Got to figure that out one day. Might just be the E10 too.

Thanks, I've heard good things about godaddy. Yahoo gave me $5.95 a year for three years then snuck a price spike to $34.95 a year, and my reply was too profane for even an emoticon to visualize.

I did the tach thing, it was great (awful...but great once finished). In one of my more "ingenius" ideas I used a Dremel to speed up the odometer gears so that it was an accurate read (the new cluster was at 50k but I was already up to 115k). I jacked it up to 20,000rpm, about 300 miles in 60 seconds before the gears and number-ink ripped apart and wore off, respectively. My second (third?) cluster was much more successful.

I think I have one of the few 6-digit odometers with tach out there (I didn't want the stock 5-digit odo that came with the tach...so I swapped the original 6-digit odometer from my old cluster to this one...details are on the website but I gotta renew the domain).

Welcome to the forum.
Once you get the new website/page up and running, we're looking forward to seeing the tach pictures. :popcorn
