I wanted to introduce myself, my name is Clay I am from northern utah, am 36 years old. I currently own two metros.
One is a 1996 black 2 dr hatchback, the other is a 1996 2dr hatch back that I race at the Bonneville Salt Flats here in Utah. The one I race here in Utah is powered by a 3 cylinder Arctic Cat Snowmobile engine, still using the metro trans axle.

Good to be here!
TIA
Clay

Welcome to the forum, bvilleracer! :)
You have a black metro and another metro that you race with a snowmobile engine? :thumb
Where are the pictures? :popcorn
You're going to get more than a few questions about the alternate engine and the metro trans axle. :D

Welcome Bvilleracer. Yeah I am not alone in the big bad world anymore. LOL Are you the guy Dan at the Salt Flats was telling me about? He had mentioned that a Metro driver was having problems with his clutch, between the smb engine and stock trans. I'm getting a car ready to run in the Pro/I class. I will try to work the bugs out this year by running in the 130 club. I hope. I hope to see you there. I have alot of questions for you. Murf

Welcome to the forum!

Sounds like you have quite the setup...

When is speed week? I keep missing it, and I'm in Tooele Valley, right next door. I need to see it, and would love to see a metro race out there!

@ Smitty, Bonneville will have events in Aug, Sept, and Oct. Each one is sactioned by a different group. I will be there in Sept. It will be 15-18. I will run on the 16th. I think. It will be my first time running there. I hope I can finish my preperations before then. If not, I will go and see it anyhow, just to see what the tech guys are looking for.

Thanks to everyone!

Mr Murf59 yes that is me, Dan and I pitted together. Great guy!

Smitty, come out to the salt flats meeting in May. We meet the 1st Wednesday of each month at Totems in SLC at 7PM. If any one else is wanting to attend the meeting its open to the public.

I am open to questions, not promising I wil have the answer but will try.

Here is my website, it focus's on the metro on the salt.

http://bandbracingteam.webs.com/

I will try and get pics of my daily driver.

I have found another metro in Northern Utah, out in the back of someones field, going to go check on it.

Thanks again
Clay
