Hello, I may be new to this group but my love of geo's runs deep(some would say to deep) I currently own 3, 1991 geo metros. In fact I never plan on having a different type of daily driver so long as I can help it. 1 I am currently rebuilding for my father who owned one when I learned to drive and he taught me to work on them. Now it is the other way around. After learning to drive his i soon bought my own 1994 which (this part still makes me sad more than 5 years later) I totaled 3 years later. Then after a short stint in a 96 that I bought on its last leg I inherited my sisters 91 that had over 275000 miles on it when the cylinder sleeve cracked. This is the one I am currently rebuilding with a new block(just bought all the parts today and have the motor torn apart already) I also have a blue 91 that I got for $325 that I rebuilt the front unibody on 3 years ago and is still going strong on the orginal motor, and a red 91 i got for 275 and rebuilt the motor 1 year ago and is in the process of body work. These two are my daily drivers. The only problem I have is my wifes family, not that they give me a hard time bout the geo's (in fact they help me work on them quite a bit), but they are motor heads, and hot rodders and some how i have gotten that sickness as well. So this has caused a new side goal bayond having a daily driver for the rest of my life. A small block Geo crazy, yes, waste of money, yes, doable, oh yes!!!!!!!!This daily struggle between to low power, high milage geo world, and the more power, high octane world is alright with me for some day I will have my cake and eat it to. |

Welcome to the forum, aclericus84. If you did a unibody repair 3 years ago on a 91 and it's still holding up, sounds like a good job. Do you have any pictures of the original damage and what it looks like 3 years later? For that matter, we'd like to see pictures of any of your metros.

Yes, welcome to the forum, aclericus84! The small block sounds like a fun project. Mid engine RWD? However for the hot rodders in the family, I have moon disk hub caps, a wrapped header and a glasspack. I believe I got some extra horsepower in the deal without having to use more octane. Oh, and a nice 218/350 cam will give the engine a nice rumble and definitely add some HP.
