i have found a 2 ring cast iron piston for the xfi .020" over, which is good news. However I read that a 3 ring piston might give me better longevity over the 2 ring piston and if i use a good synthetic on the 3 ring the mpg would be close to the 2 ring ...any thoughts?

Honestly, I doubt you'd notice any difference in between the two. |

I went with the 3 ring NPR cast pistons made in Japan. The only ones they made where .020" over but i ordered them today without the rings. Once they arrive im sending them off TotalSeal to custom make me some gapless rings. To be continued.... |

I got these in earlier so there going out today. I looked on the inside of the pistons and there where stamped teiken. These things are really much smaller than i expected. Anyways here is the real mfg that NPR private labels. http://www.teikin.com/Packed and ready for transit to Total Seal... Edited by BraveHeartCalif, Jun 9 2010, 07:49 PM.

I got the best Total Seal version of rings that they can possibly make. The invoice came in at $141 bucks for everything. Its funny these rings actually more then the pistons themselves lol. But in my mind i can blow that much on Sushi. But most certainly it will more then pay for itself in the long run I sent them the actual pistons so they can custom fit them with there rings. So the next step is to order the other goodies and send in the head to 3 Tech.... To be cont ..
