Hey I'm Ethan (Etuxr) and I just bought my first car. A 1994 Geo Metro 1.0 liter automatic with 215000 miles on it. The motor on it was hemorrhaging oil. About a quart every 100 or so miles. Any way I contacted the guy who sold me the car and he told me I could pick up a different engine at no cost (Real good guy). So I spent the past weekend perusing the forums here as I took on the seemingly daunting task of putting in a different engine. (92 1.0 with 170K miles) With all said and done the task wasn't overwhelming, but a ton of fun and I learned a lot. There are still a few more things that need to get done on the car, but she runs great and does what I need.

On my car to do list is:

Fix the hood (there is a buckle in it)
Fix the Front right fender.
Replace the front bumper.
Find out why the Check engine light is on.
Fix the cause of the Check engine light.
Replace the rotors.

I hope you kept the old engine for a rebuild :) never hurts to have an extra around :) check engine light is easy on these, just put a fuse in the diagnostic port in the fuse box under the dash, then count the check engine light blinks, it'll give you a 2 number code. the list of codes is here in the forum. Good luck with the work :)
