:hmm ...and someone recently took their wiring harness apart and found very bad quality wiring in it. So the wires themselves could be suspect.

I found one at http://www.trademotion.com/partlocator/ and searched for 'sensor.' $49 plus shipping is a starting point if it tests bad.

u think the iat could be causin all this? now control panel is actin kinda funny when i turn lights on they go off n the shift gear light stays on fluttering. if the ecm was bad would it not show on the check engine light?

no IAT will not cause this
but a bad regulator in the alternator might

do not run the engine again until you get a DVOM and measure voltage on the battery at 2k rpm .
if voltage is over 14.5 volts your alternator is bad and may damage other parts in your car

the headlights are a different issue , there is at least one thread in the "how to section" regarding that problem
