Hey.. am looking for a transmission for my 99 metro.. I know that the swift is the same car.. and when am looking for swifts 90-95 i get this options for transmissions... sohc vs dohc.. if mine is a sedan (1.3 1999) which one should I buy? thx 4 the answer.. when looking for a transmission for a metro 94.. i get this options.. M.T., 1.0L (3 cyl), Htbk, XFi M.T., 1.0L (3 cyl), Htbk, base & LSi M.T., 1.0L (3 cyl), Conv will all of those work on my 99? Edited by yoshiki2, Jun 2 2010, 06:26 AM.

They will all work, but the XFi is the only one in that list that will have the same final drive ratio as the current manual tranny in the 4 bangers IIRC. The other two will have shorter gears, a big MPG killer for the 1.3L. I think what you really want is a manual out of an 89'-94 1.3L as they should be even lower geared than the XFi's transmission. |
