Front speaker ortions

I need some 4" speakers in the dash location in my 91 vert, its the two up by the front windshield. I bought a set, but the center coaxial speaker is too high and prevents the speaker grille from going back on. I know someone out there has some decent 4" speakers that will fit under these grills, any suggestions?

There's a pick-n-pull by my house. I'll hit it this weekend and get the speakers from a few Geos they have on the lot. I don't think anybody's picked the front speakers yet.

I think the stock is 3". I would like to put in 4" also, but figured it was going to take some modification.

The holes in the vert are drilled for 4 from the factory, I had 4's in it, but the cover wouldn't go all the way down. If I could get component, or coaxial that were flush on top it would be great. I just cant find any component, and the coaxial on websites don't list the vertical offset :( the boxes at stores do, and the lowest I can find is 8mm above the bracket, I'm pretty sure that's too tall.

8mm? so just WARP the grill a bit or heck SHAVE THEM on the inside with a dremmel. we are talking 1.5 nickles thickness here.

I tried warping the grille, but it won't stay down (pops back up) :( I didn't think about shaving the speaker, that might work since its got a bunch of unnecessary trim plastic over the tweeter. I'll just have to be sure the tweeter itself doesn't come into contact with the grille.

trim the underside of the grill to. I bet they are over 5mm thick. trim 3 or 4 mm from the speaker grill underside and then trim 3 or 4 mm from the speaker. There is your 8mm.
