Hello all. I have been sneaking around for some time on here, but decided to take the plunge. I bought a 500 dollar 94 Metro hatch last week and have been doing research and having fun with it ever since. The largest problem right now is the oil consumption which is somewhat substantial, and a very low idle at times due to the previous owner adjusting the idle incorrectly. It's a heck of a car and aside from the rusted out doors and one hole in the floor, it's real solid and just needs struts. Around town it seems like it's getting around 38mpg and on the highway, right at 42mpg. I'll probably seafoam it this saturday and do an oil change. No time to do a rebuild on this 250k mile motor, but soon... very soon. I'm just very very happy to see it's very doable given all the pictures put up. :)

Currently, this is the only pic I have on the day I bought it. It needed the bumper put back on, but was in pretty good shape overall. Rust inside the engine bay, as can be expected and surface rust on lots of other parts. However, it's really a solid car and that's what I needed since I have a 60 mile round trip to work everyday.

Welcome to the forum, tikigeo! :coffee

Membership has its privileges. ;) ;)

Seafoaming the Throttle Body can be done several times and monthly as maintenance. I do both the TB throat and the brake booster vacuum hose. B-)
