Ill moving forward on rebuilding my 93 XFI w/ 170k on it. And I called Total Seal today out of AZ. Therefore im going to have them make me 6 rings gapless rings being 3 upper and 3 lower. I have to provide some tech info in order for them to custom build these cyl. rings for the xfi. *** I want to have these made ahead of time before I disassemble the engine. 1) They need to know the bore size of the cylinders. Should I have the shop measure the cylinders after they have been clean honed? Or will the stock measurement be the same in all of these. If so does anyone know the measurements on these cyl? 2)They need to know the ring width and depth. What do I tell them? 3) Total Seal has a space where they discuss reing profile. Im going Gapless( I think) but what are these other profiles and there advantages vs the gapless? Here is the link http://www.totalseal.com/TechPage.aspx#trGaplessPistRings Update-- The shop wants me to send the whole piston to total seal...problem solved...
