I've had my 97 Metro 1.3 for about 8 years now. I bought it used for $1000 just to drive to work, a 60 mile round trip. I drive full sized trucks, so it didn't take long for this thing to pay for itself in gas money alone! Well, I have just over 200,000 miles on it now, and it's still going strong! I drive through rural South Carolina, so I have collected a few deer over the years, but let me tell you, this thing is a tank. Go to the salvage yard and get a new fender, keep on going. I have had to do some work on it, replacing a burnt valve being the most major. I've been fighting an oil leak...I changed out both the crank and cam seals (on advice from this site...piece of cake). That was about a month ago, but I'm still getting a small leak from the oil sending unit. I couldn't see that leak before because of the other oil leaking. I'll take care of that this weekend. I'm no mechanic by any man's standards, but I do understand how things work, for the most part, and with the great advice on this site, I believe I can do anything. For such a great car, the one thing I don't like about it is the 3 speed auto tranny. Maybe I'll do something about that one day. :hmm

There's some cosmetic stuff I have to do. First, I need to paint this thing! The paint is peeling off, like many of the Geo's I've seen. I also need to repaint the dashboard. When I start doing all of this stuff, I'll post some before and after pictures. I hope to get it done this summer.

Well, that's it for me and my Geo. Thanks for all of the great posts, links, and advice! The pictures of the window regulator fix...artwork.
