Sounds like a shorted out fuel injector relay switch. You're getting fuel but the switch opens up the flow of fuel to the TBI, which isn't happening. The fuel pump relay and the fuel injector relay switches are both inside the black fuse box in the engine compartment, on the driver's side wall. Have somebody try to fire up the car and put your ear to the switch, or press your finger firmly down on it. Somebody told me that you should hear/feel a pulsing if it's operational. If not, it may be shorted or dead.

Check all your fuses inside the car and the 15 amp one that is with the FI & Fuel Pump relays in the engine area. Also if you can have someone turn the key on while you are touching the relays so you can feel them click. They are the same relay so you can switch them from one plug to the other to check them out. OOPPPS forgot one other thing, before you try each electrical thing out make sure you pull the negative battery cable and make sure the key is turned off before you put it back on.

!!NO!!
!!NO!!
!!NO!!

Take a break, and get away from the defeatist attitude.
Come back in a few and lets see what we can do to save this car.
I am going to re-read the thread to see what has and hasn't been tried, tested or ignored.

You had 2 bare wires.
at the fuel injector.
They touched together.
Now you have no fuel.
You need to check all the fuses.
Visually and with a test light.
Most probably a fuse blew when you shorted the 2 wires.
I know it seems redundant.
I know you believe all the fuses are good.
Please check them again.

if you touch the injector wires together
you may pop the injector driver in the ECM

but even if true
used ECMs are cheap , not a show stopper , you have to kill them , they do not fail on their own .

with key on engine off
one of those wires should have 12 volts positive , does it ?
if yes , fuses are good

ok guys i would never take my car to the scrap yard i love it but it is frusterating. ok i pulled out the fuel tank to get to the fuel pump and with the key on i am not getting voltage at the fuel pump but i took the fuel pump and went right to the battery and it does work and is the ecm the thing with all the fuses in it or is it the silver box mounted above and behind the fuses under the dash. oh and this is the best website ever never knew there was such a group of metro owners thanks for all the help

The thing with all the fuses is called the fuse box, this is not the ecm. I believe the ecm is located behind your glovebox, but mind you I've never poked around a 91, BB or one of the other early owners would probably know better.

Since you've located the fuse box, and you *know* the fuel pump works from the battery, I would look up the fuse controlling the fuel pump and make sure it is functional, then check the wires back from there. I believe Bryan had a similar problem, his thread is around here somewhere but unfortunately a quick search didn't turn it up, he may chime in (or BB will find the thread before I do :lol )
