I've got too many projects rite now. Il probably just pass. how hard would it be to swap the gauges in my car. my geo has the tach and the swift doesn't |

Just unplug and plug in the new one, they switch right out, oh but you will have to do some circuit changes to adapt for the 3-4cyl change. There's a thread on which resistor you need to change on here somewhere, Its not hard. |

Sir, yes sir!

I think it's a little more involved than that. The 1.3 doesn't have a distributor so I don't believe the old tricks work. However, if I'm wrong I'll gladly eat my hat because it's a lot easier to find a 3cyl cluster with a tach than a 4cyl one. |

These get the signal from the ECU which does all the encoding, doesn't have anything to do with a distributor. |

I think http://www.teamswift.net/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=12108&st=0&sk=t&sd=a&hilit=cyl+tach+cyl+tach goes over 2 options pretty well, one is adding a resistor, the other is changing the graphic on the face of the tach. |

I just looked in over at teamswift and the 98-01 tach is not compatible with any other model, nor is the car compatible with any other tach. you have st stay with a similar year in this case, there is some major difference in the system between years here. |

no biggie. was going to get a different head at the junk yard but didn't have any 12 point sockets for the head bolts. these bolts have to be replaced each time you take off the head right? |

The ones on it, and most aftermarket bolts are tty and are single use since they stretch when torqued. The bolts from 3tech are reusable, that'll save a lot of money if you need to do anything with the head in the future. |

Ive seen a few posts where some people say the g13b sohc head bolts are reusable....? now im unsure and no autoparts stores in my area even have them....I thought all cars with alluminum heads need new head bolts. (im talking about the head bolts in my 01 not my 96 metro) |

I would not reuse them, I have not heard differently anywhere. I know it sucks to wait, but order some ASAP, most parts places near me can get things next business day, or same day if you go early in the morning. |

![]() Just order the 3TP bolts. I have already needed the head back off, and put it on again. Very handy to have reusable bolts. Get the SS valves while you're at it.
