I am definately not a nissan fan! Tips? Dont rear end noone! Student and construction worker, you got your hands full looks like. Did you check around the junkyards for a used transmission for your maxima?

Welcome to the forum, yoshiki2.
When I think of construction worker vehicles, I think of trucks.
Takes guts to drive a metro to a construction site!
Driving tips? If you want the transmission in this car to last, upshift gently and don't downshift to slow down. Use your brakes for that.

Tips for driving a standard to add to what Jittney already put in, make your shifts smoothly (don't try to powershift as fast as you can) and don't ride the clutch, meaning your either in gear with the clutch all the way out, or clutch all the way in, but not letting it out reallll slow like.

push the clutch in when you shift. hahaha. im sure you know that already......but in reality just drive it around when you get time. the more you drive the more you will get use to it. and atleast you got a stick, not a fan at all of the automatic metros. if you have any problems with anything on your car we are more then happy to help.

IMHO, usually the worst is getting started and stalling. :banghead

I still keep the image of two spinning plates when I think about the clutch. For me it's either 'clutch in' (press down) or 'clutch out' (released). No half way (riding the clutch). You should practice being steady, have even foot speed. And don't hold the 'clutch in' very long, 3-4 seconds max.

Don't drive with your hand on the stick shift either. If you have to, rest your hand on the emergency brake but it should be on the steering wheel. ^o) Emergency stops could be with both feet, one on the brake, one on the clutch to keep the engine from stalling.

If you have any trouble just 'clutch in' and slip the shift lever into "neutral" ('clutch out' and think for a second) then 'clutch in' and shift to a next higher gear. The engine won't go into high rpms and possible damage. Now you can get back into your rhythm. I will use the emergency brake on a hill. Put it in gear, release the e-brake and clutch at the same time you add throttle. It's an acquired skill. ;)

thx guys.. already practicing with the car.. replaced camshaft.. transmission.. and changed my speedometer for one with tachometer.. car is shaking when I go over 65.. i guess it needs an alignment.. another thing is that when i was with friends in my car it took my baby a while to speed it up (in a hill).. so am wondering if its safe to drive with more people in my car...

Car shaking, I would suspect tires, out of round, out of balance.
